| “Taste of North Pole” Nets $2750 for North Pole Boys and Girls Club! |

Thank you to the participants and attendees of the North Pole Community Chamber of Commerce’s “Taste of North Pole,” held on April 19th at the North Pole Plaza Mall. The event brought in $2750 to support the local Boys and Girls Club. If you missed this event, you missed a great opportunity to sample twelve local restaurants, speak to multiple representatives of UAF, enjoy music by several excellent ensembles, and the enchanting Polynesian Dancers! Face painting for kids was done by DEANNA. Be sure to thank the local participating restaurants: Strange Brew Coffee, Elf’s Den, Harley’s Diner, Pagodas, Food Factory, Mambo Grill, Thai Cuisine, Wendy’s, Taco Time, Pizza Hut, and Safeway Deli. The North Pole Boys and Girls Club serves between 30 and 70 young people every day, involving them in homework, fun competitions, tech opportunities, and community activities. The Club has been hit hard by funding cuts and needs to raise approximately $12,250 more immediately in order to stay open. To donate, call the local Club at 488- 7838.
