Become Counted, Please Take A Survey |
Whatever you feel about the census, it was mandated by the Constitution and it dramatically affects our representation in Juneau and in Congress. It’s therefore important to get an accurate count of who lives here. Kathryn Dodge, who keeps track of numbers in the Borough Mayor’s office writes, “The Decennial Census is coming and the Fairbanks North Star Borough (FNSB) believes that it was significantly undercounted in the 2000 census. The FNSB has an extraordinary number of PO Boxes and we believe this was one reason that we were undercounted. We are trying to understand the scope of this challenge so we can develop strategies that will help everyone be counted in the 2010 census. The FNSB is conducting a survey of our citizens to find out how many people get their mail at their physical address or at a mail box.” Please follow this link and take the simple survey, which is also found on the front page of the Borough website. When you’re done, ask your friends and neighbors to take the survey, too! http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=phtCahPEOWTgVmpkHAH_2bzw_3d_3d |
