City of North Pole
City Council Seat
The North Pole City Council has a vacancy for a City Council seat. Interested persons may submit a completed application/declaration and Statement of Interest to the City Clerk no later than 5:00 p.m., August 3, 2010. The application includes an APOC Public Financial Disclosure Statement. This form must be completed to be eligible to be considered by the Council. The person appointed to fill this vacancy shall serve until the next regular election of October 5, 2010.
QUALIFICATIONS: North Pole Municipal Code 3.16.010 provides that a candidate for city mayor or city council must be a qualified voter of the State of Alaska who has resided within the city for a period of one (1) year preceding the period for filing a declaration of candidacy. The application form along with the APOC, Public Financial Disclosure forms, are available at the City Clerk's Office, 125 Snowman Lane, or located on the City web site at FORMS-DOWNLOADS - ELECTIONS-Application-Declaration of Vacant Council Seat. CITY OF NORTH POLE
The Municipal Election for the City of North Pole, will be held October 5, 2010. Declaration of Candidacy may be filed with the North Pole City Clerk's Office, 125 Snowman Lane, from August 2, 2010, 8:00 a.m. through August 13, 2010 5:00 p.m. for the following:

Qualifications
A candidate for city mayor or city council must be a qualified voter of the State of Alaska who has resided within the city for a period of one (1) year preceding the period for filing a Declaration of Candidacy. An elected person may hold only one (1) elective seat at a time.
All elected officials are elected at large.
A completed sworn Declaration of Candidacy and Public Official Financial Disclosure Statement must be filed with the clerk at the time of filing along with a $25.00 non-refundable filing fee.
Withdrawal Deadline: 5 days after filing deadline.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR REGISTRATION: You may update your voter registration at www.elections.state.ak.us or in person at the State Division office at 675 7th Avenue, Station H3, or at one of the Municipal Clerks offices listed below during normal business hours.
