City of North Pole Recognized for Water System Excellence
For the 5th year in a row, the North Pole Utility Water System
has been recognized by the State of Alaska for
excellence in system operations.
Our Utility has achieved Ursa Major status in Water System Excellence for operations in 2022. The Water System Excellence Award is a yearly designation and a concerted effort between ADEC’s Drinking Water Program and Operator Certification Program to evaluate and recognize drinking water systems who Maintained four quarters of Operator Certification compliance and no open, unresolved, or incurred Drinking Water violations during the award year. Only 15% of all water utility systems in Alaska were awarded this designation.
